Charlie B's Hardware

While far from home, our RV developed a small water leak at the fresh water tank. Charlie had the part we needed and kindly sent home a strip of plumbing tape so we didn’t have to buy a whole roll. He also helped us with a laundry list of other weird issues that we had collected as we drove across the U.S. This is exactly the kind of service one loves to get but rarely do in the retail world. Charlie is patient, creative, and attentive. I wish we lived here so we could patronize his store. He also plays a mean piano (nightly?) in the Mammoth Hotel map room. 🥰

Charlie's place may be small, but he has had the stuff I need every time. My last need was a 3' chunk of 1x12 board. Yep, he had a 1x12 standing there and he chopped off a 3' chunk for me. Other visits have provided me with plumbing supplies, nuts & bolts, weather stripping, etc. I am really, really happy that Gardiner has a hardware store again! Charlie is a great guy and will help you any way he can.

After living with the drawer fronts in my van falling off for months, I stopped in to see if they had a solution. The owner put his lunch aside and showed me a match trick that happened to work! I'm so damn grateful to him for the time he spent, saving me further aggravation. Thanks so much!
